Students captured the land around the middle school by taking digital photographs. After choosing one image, they used a grid to help them enlarge the photo to create a drawing that they are now turning into an abstract painting by assigning false color to each true color in their photograph. This lesson is in collaboration with scientists and researchers working on the Eastern Shore using hyperspectral imagery. 7th and 8th graders studied Alexander Calder's famous hanging mobiles and then were inspired to make their own to hang from the ceiling.
